Before pencil touches paper, the designer, Robert D. Tonsing, investigates the future home site and seeks to develop a direct response to the site itself, without seeking inspiration from any built projects. Responding to fantastic rock outcroppings with jagged and geometric architectural shapes, or taking advantage of natural topography leads to a home that complements and belongs in its beautiful mountain setting. Mountain Modern is the name we have given to this unique style of architecture.

White Tiger Design does not design homes like anything you have seen before; Instead we design homes that are unlike anything you have seen before. Each is one of a kind, a prototype, belonging only in the one place where it is built.

Energy efficiency and flexible fuel: In addition to addressing the natural aspects of the site, White Tiger Design also addresses southern exposure so the home will benefit from solar energy collection. The low winter sun shines through numerous windows, helping to heat the home, while shading provided by large over-hanging roofs keeps the high summer sun out. In-floor radiant heat, the most efficient and comfortable heating you can buy is a hallmark of every home. It is quiet, invisible, and without duct work to gather and distribute dust. Every home is also designed to have auxiliary heat provided by a wood burning stove, so you can take advantage of the abundant firewood in our mountains.
